MY STORY ABOUT CORONA VIRUS

Our students in Uganda have been writing essays as they continue learning remotely. We are happy to share their work. Please note student work is presented in its original content.

My name is Namatovu Caitlyn. I am in Grade Two at Arlington Junior School.

My class teacher is called Teacher Aida. I love her very much because she teaches us many good things. She taught us to keep clean at school and at home.

When we were going home for the holidays, she told us that there is a new disease called Corona virus. She told us that it is a very dangerous disease and it can kill people. She told us that we should be at home and do our holidays work. We should also wash our hands, don’t touch the mouth and the nose.

We don’t need to sit or play near each other.

I am not happy to stay home not going to school. Corona virus is killing people in the world. I am missing my teachers and friends at school. My mum told me that our friends in USA will not come to visit us because the planes are not flying from one country to another.  I feel bad not seeing our sponsors. They bring us stickers and balls to play with. They pay our school fees and play with us on the swings. But the good thing my mum loves me. she has told me that when the disease is over, I will go back to my school. I am praying for all our sponsors to remain safe in their homes.
